Mr. Muhammad Arif Khan

Senior Partner

Mr. Muhammad Arif Khan is a seasoned litigator and Senior Partner at Legum, with over two decades of distinguished experience in criminal defence, criminal prosecution, environmental law, anti-narcotics law, accountability, and anti-corruption matters. His career spans key roles in both public service and private practice, reflecting a rare depth of expertise across Pakistan’s criminal justice system.

Mr. Khan served for nine years as a Judicial Member of the Sindh Environmental Protection Tribunal, where he presided over significant environmental litigation and regulatory matters. Prior to this, he held the position of Senior Public Prosecutor at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), contributing to major anti-corruption prosecutions across Pakistan.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Khan served as a Panel Advocate for Pakistan Customs and Control of Narcotic Substances (CNS), where he prosecuted complex narcotics and drug-related cases. In private practice, he has spent over a decade as a criminal defence lawyer, successfully representing clients in a wide range of high-profile and sensitive criminal matters.

Dr. Nikhat Saba

Managing Partner

Dr. Nikhat Saba is Managing Partner at Legum, where she combines seasoned courtroom advocacy with broad transactional and regulatory expertise. A distinguished litigator in civil and property law, family matters, and landlord–tenant disputes, she also advises clients on labour law, banking law, foreign-exchange regulation and corporate governance.

In her civil and property practice, Dr. Saba handles complex ownership and boundary disputes, property transfers, and enforcement of contractual rights before district and High Courts. Equally adept in family law, she represents clients in guardianship applications, dissolution of marriage (including Khula and restitution of conjugal rights), child-custody and maintenance proceedings, and domestic violence cases—always balancing empathy with tenacious advocacy.

Beyond litigation, Dr. Saba is a trusted advisor on a wide range of regulatory and commercial matters. She guides employers and trade unions through labour-law compliance, negotiates banking-sector transactions, and ensures clients meet State Bank of Pakistan requirements for foreign-exchange dealings. Mr. Ahmer Jamil Khan

Partner

Mr. Ahmer Jamil Khan is a partner at Legum, where he advises multinational corporations, global technology platforms, telecommunication companies, internet service providers and international airlines on a wide range of regulatory, commercial, and contentious legal matters in Pakistan. With a strong focus on high-impact sectors such as telecommunications, digital services, aviation, and competition law, he provides strategic counsel that blends legal precision with commercial insight.

Ahmer regularly represents clients in complex regulatory proceedings, commercial disputes, and competition matters before Pakistani authorities and courts. His experience includes acting in merger control, licensing, consumer protection, and data governance issues, as well as assisting clients in structuring distribution, agency, and IP licensing arrangements.

In the aviation sector, he has advised and represented numerous foreign carriers, cargo operators, and aviation service providers in regulatory, contractual, and consumer claims, including matters involving passenger compensation, flight delays and cancellations, cargo loss, and proceedings before aviation regulators.

Ahmer has also been involved in several merger and acquisition transactions, advising on competition compliance, transactional structuring, and regulatory approvals. Mr. Mirza Abdul Ghafoor

Mr. Mirza Abdul Ghafoor is a seasoned legal practitioner with decades of experience advising and representing clients in a wide range of civil and property-related matters. As one of the senior counsels at Legum, he brings a practical, solution-oriented approach to complex legal disputes and transactions involving real estate, family law, and civil litigation.

His work spans the full spectrum of property law, including residential, commercial, and industrial transactions, property disputes, title verifications, partition matters, and litigation involving fraudulent transfers or encroachments. He regularly advises on leases, licenses, landlord and tenant issues, and acts for clients in matters relating to real estate development, construction, and compliance with building control and municipal regulations.

Mr. Ghafoor also has extensive experience in family and personal law, handling cases involving divorce, custody, inheritance, succession, and guardianship, as well as civil and criminal defamation, and general civil litigation.
