Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and offers an occasion to reflect on his example of mercy, integrity and service to humanity.
The teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) place justice at the centre of both public and private conduct. The Qur’an calls upon believers to stand firmly for justice even when it is against themselves or those close to them (Qur’an 4:135), while the Prophet taught the moral courage of speaking a word of truth before an unjust ruler (Sunan Abi Dawud 4344).
These teachings remind us that justice requires truthfulness, impartiality, compassion and the protection of the vulnerable. We extend our best wishes of peace and goodwill to everyone observing this blessed occasion.
