On 14 August, we mark Pakistan’s independence and remember the sacrifices through which the country was established. Freedom carries a continuing responsibility to protect human dignity, constitutional rights, representative institutions, and the rule of law.
As devastating floods affect communities across Pakistan, this Independence Day calls for compassion and solidarity. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods, and with everyone working to bring relief.
